Dirk Strangely

Dirk Strangely is a mixed media fine artist and the founder of Artifactism™, a new art genre in which authenticated historical artifacts become the medium of contemporary fine art.

With Souls of the Titanic, Dirk has spent years researching the real people aboard RMS Titanic, sourcing authenticated materials from the wreck site, and creating portraits that exist at once as art and as artifact. The work has been featured on Click2Houston, The Courier, Houston Chronicle, and CW39.

Once the series is complete, Dirk intends to show it exclusively within Titanic museums and exhibitions around the world, which makes these gatherings a rare and local chance to see the work firsthand and meet the founder of the genre.
